UPEACE Rector to lecture in Chile on peace education
Francisco Rojas, the rector of the United Nations University for Peace (UPEACE), will visit Chile to lead a conference titled ‘From security to coexistence: why educate for peace in the 21st century’. Organized by Universidad del Alba, the event is scheduled for August 18 at the university's Santiago campus.
The conference aims to explore the role of higher education in preventing conflicts and building peaceful societies amidst global challenges such as armed conflict, political polarization, and social fragmentation. The activity is part of an academic alliance between UPEACE and Universidad del Alba focused on conflict resolution, international cooperation, and a culture of peace. The event will host university authorities, diplomats, public officials, and academics.
