UPES and Hewlett Packard Enterprise Launch AI-Driven Centre of Excellence in India

University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) inaugurated the HPE Networking AI‑Driven Centre of Excellence at UPES's Dehradun campus. The centre will provide hands‑on training, project‑based learning, faculty development, industry bootcamps and certification pathways in AI‑driven networking, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity and other enterprise technologies.

The partnership aims to address India’s projected need for more than 1.25 million AI professionals by 2027 and a shortfall of over 600,000 skilled workers, as cited in a NASSCOM‑Deloitte report. Students will have access to HPE Networking Associate and Specialist certifications, lab sessions, live demonstrations and potential internships or hiring through HPE and its partners. The launch featured a keynote by Shishir Singh, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Network Products & Advanced Technology at HPE, titled “The Bridge: Degree to Career.”
