Uppal Nalla Cheruvu lake restoration set for November inauguration

The Uppal Nalla Cheruvu, a water body previously used as a dumping ground for industrial waste and garbage, is undergoing a major transformation into a freshwater recreational lake. The rejuvenation project is being managed by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA).

Scheduled for completion within the next two months, the project is expected to be inaugurated in November, potentially by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. Located near Uppal along the Warangal Highway, the site is being developed as a tourism and leisure hub for eastern Hyderabad.

The development includes the installation of visitor-oriented facilities intended to improve the local environment and create new public spaces. Once operational, the site is expected to generate employment in the hospitality, maintenance, and tourism sectors.
