Upper St. Clair defeats Peters Township 44-0 in conference opener
Upper St. Clair secured a dominant 44-0 victory over Peters Township in their Allegheny Six Conference opener. The Panthers established control early in the game when linebacker Sam Bunn forced a fumble from Peters Township quarterback Luke Wagner, which was recovered by Ryan Robbins at the 18-yard line. John Banbury subsequently scored a two-yard touchdown to give Upper St. Clair an early 7-0 lead.
The Panthers extended their lead in the first quarter with a 38-yard touchdown pass from Josh Snyder to Beckett Mayfield. In the second quarter, Luca Cory added a two-yard rushing touchdown, bringing the score to 21-0.
Prior to the matchup, Peters Township coach TJ Plack noted that while the team's defense had remained stout, the offense had struggled with precision and consistency, averaging only 7.8 points per game. The loss brings Peters Township's record to 2-4, while Upper St. Clair remains undefeated at 6-0.
