UPS announces US$2 billion global logistics expansion

UPS has announced investments exceeding US$2 billion to expand its global logistics network through 2028. The capital injections are designated for its International, Healthcare, and Supply Chain Solutions divisions to increase agility amid trade volatility and global transport instability.

The expansion includes significant infrastructure projects: a new operations center at Clark Airport in the Philippines scheduled for late 2026, an operational plant in Barrie, Ontario, Canada, by 2027, and an air node at Hong Kong International Airport by 2028. These developments target high-priority sectors such as healthcare, automotive, advanced technology, and manufacturing.

According to Kate Gutmann, executive vice president of International, Healthcare, and Supply Chain Solutions, the strategy focuses on unifying air and ground transport, customs management, and distribution. This integrated approach aims to provide greater visibility and simplicity while reducing operational friction for complex and urgent shipments.
