UPSC Announces 350 Selections for CAPF Assistant Commandants
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the final result of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) Assistant Commandant examination for the 2025 recruitment cycle. A total of 350 candidates have been recommended for Group A appointments across the five CAPF services – Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo‑Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). The written exam was held on 3 August 2025 and the personality‑test interviews were conducted in May 2026; the result was declared in early August 2026.
In addition to the 350 selected candidates, UPSC has placed 164 candidates on a reserve list and has withheld the result for one candidate pending a court order. Several appointments remain subject to the outcome of pending writ petitions before the Delhi High Court. The vacancy breakdown for the recruitment cycle totals 432 posts, including a 10 % reservation for ex‑servicemen. The selection includes category‑wise allocations for General, EWS, OBC, SC and ST candidates.
