Urakawa Shrine holds annual autumn grand festival

Urakawa Shrine held its annual autumn grand festival on the 13th under clear skies. The event featured various ceremonies at the main hall and shrine grounds, including miko dances to pray for the prevention of disasters and the bringing of good fortune.

Participants paraded portable shrines (mikoshi) through the city streets and the Sakai-cho district. The festivities included musical performances by the Urakawa Koto Association, dance performances by the group Glare, and traditional floats. The celebration concluded with a lively procession and a traditional mochi-maki (rice cake tossing) event, drawing large crowds of families and local residents.
