Ural goalkeeper Aleksandr Selikhov scores winning free kick

Ural goalkeeper Aleksandr Selikhov scored his first professional goal with a 23-meter free kick during a Russian First League match against Chelyabinsk. The 32-year-old goalkeeper struck the ball into the top corner in the 87th minute, securing a 2-1 lead that ultimately led to a 3-1 victory for Ural.

Ural Director Roman Oreshchuk noted that the goal was not a coincidence, stating that Selikhov had been practicing free kicks for approximately six months. Following the match, Selikhov jokingly referenced Brazilian goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni, saying, “Now you can call me Rogerio Ceni.”

With this win, Ural moves to fourth place in the standings with 28 points. The match was marked by two red cards, as Kochiev of Chelyabinsk and Stezhko of Ural were both sent off after receiving second yellow cards.
