UralDronZavod develops Upyr series of combat drones
The Russian company UralDronZavod, based in Ekaterinburg, has developed a series of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) designed for combat use. The company, which grew from a small project funded by civilian donations, produces both quadcopter FPV drones and fixed-wing attack drones.
The Upyr-18 is a quadcopter FPV drone capable of carrying up to 10 kilograms of explosives. It has gained notoriety for its ability to target armored vehicles, such as the American Abrams tank, using low-cost munitions. The company is currently working on developing autonomous guidance systems.
Additionally, the company introduced the Upyr-K, a fixed-wing drone with a range of 80 kilometers and a payload capacity of 12 kilograms. Designed to destroy buildings and bunkers, the Upyr-K is intended to carry anti-tank mines, such as the TM-62, as its primary payload.
