Uran market shifts as US and Canada focus on production and exploration

Global nuclear energy production reached 2,702 terawatt-hours in 2025, according to the World Nuclear Association. As energy and industrial policies increasingly prioritize securing uranium supplies, companies are pursuing different strategies to meet demand.

In North America, focus is shifting toward new uranium production in the United States and high-grade exploration in Canada. The long-term uranium price indicator from TradeTech stood at 97 US dollars per pound U3O8 at the end of September 2026, serving as a key benchmark for long-term planning compared to short-term spot prices.
