Uranium market faces projected supply deficit by 2027
The uranium market is facing a projected supply deficit. According to Benchmark Mineral Intelligence, a gap between mine supply and demand is expected to reach 18 percent by 2027. While investment in exploration and mine development rose significantly in 2023/2024, the long lead times required for new mines may struggle to keep pace with rising electricity demand from data centers and nuclear power expansion.
In related developments, Uranium Energy has reported increased output and received final permits for four additional header houses at Christensen Ranch. Production at these facilities is expected to begin in the coming weeks, marking a milestone for the company’s in-situ uranium projects.
