Urawa Red Diamonds defeat Yamanashi Gakuin University 3-0 in Emperor's Cup

Urawa Red Diamonds secured a 3-0 victory against Yamanashi Gakuin University in the second round of the Emperor's Cup on August 26. The win marks the first victory under manager Cho Gue-rae.

Eiichi Katayama, making his official debut for the club, had a standout performance, contributing one goal and two assists. Ado Onaiwu scored twice, netting the first goal in the 18th minute following a cross from Katayama and adding a second in the 23rd minute after a sequence involving Itsuki Seko and Katayama.

Katayama completed his impressive debut in the 84th minute with a goal following a series of passes involving Ryoma Watanabe and Matheus Savio. The victory advances Urawa to the third round, where they are scheduled to face Omiya Ardija in the Saitama Derby.
