Urayasu D-Rocks to host historic rugby matches at MUFG Stadium

The professional rugby team Urayasu D-Rocks has announced it will host two matches at MUFG Stadium (National Stadium) during the 2026-27 season. This marks the first time the club will play at the venue and the first time a regular season match in the Japan Rugby League One will be held at the current National Stadium since its completion in 2019.

The scheduled matches are as follows:

• January 22, 2027: Urayasu D-Rocks vs. Kobelco Kobe Steelers • February 5, 2027: Urayasu D-Rocks vs. Tokyo Suntory Sungoliath

In preparation for the upcoming season, the club is also offering free invitations via lottery for five pre-season host games to be held at Urayasu D-Park. These matches are available to members of the official fan club, ‘Club D-Rockers’.

Urayasu D-Rocks' President Hideki Takahashi described the move to the National Stadium as a ‘major challenge to carve out the future of the club,’ aiming to inspire local children through the team's progression to a major national stage.
