Urban Award celebrates 10 years of sustainable mobility in Italy

The Urban Award, an initiative celebrating ten years of promoting sustainable urban mobility, has announced its tenth edition. Created by Ludovica Casellati, the award recognizes Italian municipalities that have implemented concrete interventions such as safer school routes, improved cycling connections, pedestrianized spaces, and incentives to reduce automobile use.

The award was presented at the Anci headquarters in Rome, with support from partners including Intesa Sanpaolo, Confcommercio, and Pin Bike. Winners will be announced on November 26 in Verona during the Anci national assembly.

Selection criteria focus on the implementation level of projects, service usability, and local impact, including pollution reduction and community engagement. The award prioritizes completed or active projects over those that are merely planned.
