Urban construction projects announced in Algeciras and Cáceres

Demolition of the Escalinata building in Algeciras is scheduled to begin on November 9. The structure, located at 1 Murillo Street, was declared in ruins in 2007 following structural damage caused during the construction of the Escalinata parking lot. Residents were forced to evacuate in 2003, and the demolition marks the end of two decades of abandonment. The project will be carried out manually from the top down, utilizing a sensor system to monitor the building's evolution. The works are expected to be completed by January 29, 2027.

In Cáceres, rehabilitation works will take place at 14 Pintores Street. The project involves replacing the building's roof and repairing residential units. The intervention includes the installation of scaffolding on the facade, with temporary occupation of the public thoroughfare authorized through January 2, 2027. The project is being conducted under municipal license LIC-OMA-0236/2024.
