Urban development and accessibility projects advance in Spain

In Villanueva de la Serena, Spain, the City Council and APAMEX are collaborating to improve accessibility in the Cruz del Río neighborhood. The initiative focuses on approximately 300 homes across 50 buildings. Plans include installing external elevators on building facades to ensure residents can access common areas. The Extremadura Accessibility Technical Office (OTAEX) has categorized the buildings into three typologies to assist homeowner associations in applying for subsidies. The council has committed to providing technical advice and streamlining the necessary licensing processes.

In Siero, Spain, the local government is set to grant the first construction license for 49 homes in the Bulevar de Lugones area. This project, driven by Grupo Casado, is part of a larger development expected to eventually house between 1,000 and 2,000 homes. The municipal investment, which includes a public green zone, totals approximately 9 million euros. Private urbanization works are expected to be completed by October, facilitating the connection between Lugones and the highway.
