Urban development and inclusive art projects launched in Chile
The Ministry of Housing and Urbanism and the Municipality of Freirina have inaugurated a new urban development project in Caleta Chañaral de Aceituno. Part of the “Pequeñas Localidades” program, the intervention in the El Domo sector includes volumetric signage, meeting spaces, urban furniture, and tourism equipment. This project aims to strengthen local identity and boost tourism near the Humboldt Penguin National Reserve.
In Antofagasta, a collaborative mosaic mural was unveiled at Playa Trocadero. The project, titled “El arte como herramienta de inclusión,” was a ten-month initiative led by Sorenial and Color Habitante with funding from Fondart Regional. The program focused on teaching mosaic techniques to adults with physical and intellectual disabilities, culminating in a collective public artwork designed to promote social inclusion and community participation.
