Urban Edge Network to broadcast 2026 Chicago Football Classic

Urban Edge Network (UEN) has secured the rights to broadcast the 2026 Chicago Football Classic live from Soldier Field. The event, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12, will feature a matchup between Mississippi Valley State University and Lincoln University (Pa.).

In addition to the national broadcast, UEN plans to implement new advertising and commerce technologies. The network is developing a third-generation app featuring contextual advertising and a shoppable broadcast feature that will allow viewers to purchase merchandise directly during the games.

Hardy Pelt, Chief Revenue Officer of UEN, noted that the move aims to showcase Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to a national audience and major brands. The deal was facilitated by sponsorship and media firm Van Wagner.
