Urban forestry initiatives launched in Patrocínio and Botucatu

Municipalities in Brazil are implementing urban greening initiatives to improve microclimates and biodiversity. In Patrocínio, the 'Bosque do Amanhã' program, a partnership between the local government and the State Government of Minas Gerais, focuses on expanding urban forests. This project, which began in 2021, involves continuous maintenance of native vegetation to protect soil and create ecological awareness spaces.

Similarly, Botucatu has launched the 'Microflorestas e Pomares Urbanos' project. The initiative begins with the planting of 50 seedlings in a permanent preservation area near the city's bus station. This project aims to create concentrated nuclei of native species alongside urban orchards. The program integrates environmental recovery with education, involving local students in planting activities to foster a connection between the community and urban nature.
