Urban greenery in Poland noted as superior to Italian cities

An Italian observer has noted the abundance of urban green spaces in Polish cities as a significant advantage compared to Italy. While many Polish cities face challenges with 'betonization'—the removal of greenery for infrastructure—data from 2024 by the association Legambiente highlights a disparity in tree density.

In major Italian regional capitals, there is an average of 24 trees per 100 inhabitants, with many cities falling below 10 trees per 100 people. In contrast, Warsaw's forests, parks, and green squares occupy approximately 40 percent of the city's area, supporting an estimated 9 million trees.
