Urban infrastructure and pedestrianization spark local disputes

Local authorities and political representatives are addressing urban management and infrastructure issues in San Biagio and Milan. In San Biagio, a representative from Fratelli d’Italia has denounced the state of neglect regarding the viale Elvezia cycle path. Issues reported include uncontrolled vegetation, accumulated waste, and illegal parking that obstructs pedestrians and cyclists. There are also concerns regarding vehicle speeds and safety on adjacent roundabouts.

In Milan, the pedestrianization of a section of via Luigi Sacco and part of piazza Sicilia in the De Angeli district has sparked local opposition. Deborah Dell’Acqua of Fratelli d’Italia is calling for a suspension of the measure, citing technical reports that suggest increased traffic congestion in surrounding streets such as via Seprio and via Buonarroti. The project also results in the removal of 25 parking spaces and 10 motorcycle spots, impacting residents, local businesses, and access to the Umberto Eco school.
