Urban infrastructure improvements underway in Slatina and Bistrița
Local authorities in Slatina and Bistrița are implementing various urban development projects to improve traffic flow and pedestrian accessibility.
In Slatina, the municipality has introduced several traffic reorganization measures. These include establishing a one-way system on a section of Pitești Street and updating parking markings near the USAMV area. To enhance pedestrian safety, access paths to crossings have been lowered on A. I. Cuza Boulevard to assist people with reduced mobility and parents with strollers. Additionally, a new pedestrian crossing has been installed on Cuza Vodă Street.
In Bistrița, the city administration has begun administrative steps to create a pedestrian link between a new public parking area on Bistricioarei Street and 1 Decembrie Street. This project aims to connect the parking facility to major arteries near public institutions. Mayor Gabriel Lazany has requested the detachment of a 69-square-meter plot of land from public property to facilitate this access, a move pending approval from the Bistrița-Năsăud County Council.
