Urban infrastructure projects announced in Panama and Spain

In Panama, a major infrastructure project is set to transform Vía España to improve public transit between Panama City and San Miguelito. The $80 million initiative will establish exclusive lanes for MiBus vehicles and expand lanes for private vehicles over a five-kilometer stretch. The project aims to reduce bus stops from 40 to 13 to shorten travel times and includes the renovation of 17 intersections. Additionally, a separate $11.6 million project has begun to rehabilitate 12 vehicular bridges in the capital and San Miguelito, including the Balboa Bridge.

In Spain, the city of Seville will begin urban transformation works around the Casino de la Exposición and the Lope de Vega Theater this September. The €6.3 million project, part of the preparations for the Centenary of the 1929 Universal Exposition, covers over 68,000 square meters. The works will involve sanitation networks and sidewalk improvements, affecting various pavilions and surrounding streets. The project is expected to result in new pedestrian zones, gardens, and an open-air auditorium.
