Urban infrastructure projects underway in San Marino and Palermo

In San Marino, dismantling operations are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 27, at the Piazza Dante roundabout. The project involves the removal of the last two remaining 'torri-faro' (lighthouse towers) in the territory, which historically illuminated the area in front of the central station. Following recent upgrades to the public lighting system, these works will require the closure of certain road sections to ensure technical safety and will necessitate adjustments to local traffic flows.

In Palermo, Italy, preparatory work for the new tram Line C is advancing. The project, which aims to connect Corso Calatafimi with the central station, will soon enter a phase of preliminary archaeological investigations along the planned track route. To facilitate these surveys, the Municipality of Palermo has issued an ordinance regulating traffic in several areas, including Viale Regione Siciliana and the junction with Via Ernesto Basile. Work will be conducted via mobile construction sites, involving temporary partial lane closures, though authorities aim to maintain at least one open lane in each direction to minimize disruption.
