Urban mobility developments highlighted in Linz and Vienna

In Vienna, the Meiselstraße bicycle street was awarded the VCÖ Mobility Prize Vienna for its focus on sustainable transport. The project, which prioritizes cycling and includes climate adaptation measures like tree planting and soil de-sealing, was recognized alongside the extension of tram line 18 and mobility management programs by the Vienna Chamber of Commerce. Data indicates that Vienna maintains the highest share of public transport, walking, and cycling in Austria, resulting in lower per capita greenhouse gas emissions and reduced mobility costs for households compared to the national average.
