Urban planning developments in Sant Fost and Ordino

In Sant Fost, the local council has approved a new step toward rezoning a municipal plot on Santa Rosa Street 32 from private services to industrial use. The move aims to increase the land's value for potential sale, a decision met with opposition. Critics have suggested alternatives such as land use concessions to preserve municipal heritage and have raised concerns regarding potential flooding risks from the Besòs River. Mayor Montserrat Sanmartí noted that the change from office to industrial use requires final approval from the Generalitat's Urbanism Department.

In Ordino, real estate development continues despite the new Parish Urban Planning Plan (POUP). Construction is active in several areas, including multi-family buildings near the secondary school and high-end single-family homes in the Terres de Nicolau unit. While the POUP seeks more moderate and orderly urbanism, Mayor Maria del Mar Coma stated that developers continue to show interest in the parish. Some property owners have challenged urban planning regulations through legal appeals, though recent court rulings have upheld decisions made by the local government.
