Urban Planning Initiatives Launched in San Salvador's Escalón and Argentina's Malargüe
In San Salvador, the AGRISAL real‑estate group, the Association La Escalón and the Metropolitan Area Planning Office (OPAMSS) reaffirmed a joint commitment to turn the Escalón neighbourhood into a model of sustainable, cooperative urban development. Representatives highlighted goals such as improved public spaces, greener mobility, enhanced security and stronger community ties.
In Argentina's Malargüe department, the municipal council led by Mayor Celso Jaque approved a new Urban and Environmental Planning Code to replace an outdated framework that had governed the city and surrounding oasis for almost twenty years. The code modernises land‑use rules, zonation, environmental protection and adds an annual review mechanism to align development with current social, economic and ecological needs.
