In Marrakech, residents of the Zahr Taraka district have filed a formal complaint with the local mayor regarding the conversion of residential buildings into passenger transport bus stations. The community reports that this practice has caused significant traffic congestion, noise pollution, and waste accumulation, posing health risks to children and the elderly. They are calling for authorities to enforce urban planning regulations and prohibit the use of residential spaces for transport purposes.

In South San Jose, neighbors in the Homestead Acres area are organizing against a redevelopment proposal on Warwick Road. An LLC linked to the development firm Samara intends to demolish a single-family home to build a duplex, utilizing California’s Senate Bill 9. Local residents allege the project is a predatory misuse of housing laws and fear it sets a precedent for larger developments that could overwhelm the quiet neighborhood. San Jose planning officials have defended their review process, stating the project must proceed under state housing law.
