Urban redevelopment projects advance in Ceglie del Campo and Messina
Various urban redevelopment and cultural preservation projects are underway in Italy. In Ceglie del Campo, work is progressing on a specialized glass and steel display case for the Madonna del Buterrito triumphal chariot. Designed to minimize visual impact, the 10-meter-long structure will feature anti-reflective, shatterproof glass and a corten steel frame to protect the 2024 chariot during festivities.
In Messina, authorities are advancing the Boccetta-Annunziata waterfront project. A technical committee involving the Port System Authority, the Municipality, and the University is working to accelerate the recovery of the former Irrera a Mare site. Additionally, plans are in motion to repurpose decommissioned pavilions for cultural activities, co-working spaces, and the Urbana Innovation Lab through public tender processes.
