Urban redevelopment projects advance in South Boston and Jacksonville
In South Boston, a Letter of Intent has been filed for a massive 1.837 million-square-foot mixed-use redevelopment at 314-420 Dorchester Avenue. The six-acre site is expected to feature four residential buildings reaching up to 200 feet, providing nearly 2,000 units. The project will also include approximately 45,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and potential on-site grocery services.
In Jacksonville, the Downtown Development Review Board has approved preliminary designs for two major projects. The board voted 7-0 to advance designs for the University of Florida’s graduate campus and semiconductor institute in the LaVilla neighborhood, a project estimated to cost $345 million. Additionally, the board unanimously approved preliminary plans for Gateway Jax Inc.’s Riverfront Plaza Hotel and Residences, part of a larger $2 billion investment to develop the city's Northbank.
