Urban redevelopment projects underway in Carmagnola and Cortona

Various urban redevelopment and restoration projects are underway in Italy. In Carmagnola, construction is set to begin for the revitalization of Piazza IV Martiri. Funded by the Urban Trade District, the project aims to renovate pedestrian paths and improve accessibility. The works involve replacing current paving with draining materials, reorganizing greenery with automated irrigation, and updating urban furniture such as benches and bicycle racks. The project is expected to conclude by December.

In Cortona, the second phase of the conservative restoration of the ‘Muro del Mercato’ has commenced. Following the completion of high-impact structural work, the access ramp to the square is reopening, and the Autolinee Toscane bus stop in Piazza del Mercato will become active again. While heavy goods vehicles remain prohibited, school buses and vehicles for persons with disabilities will be permitted to circulate near the primary school area to minimize disruption for families.
