Urban redevelopment projects underway in Vicenza and Terranuova
In Vicenza, redevelopment work has begun on Piazza di Maddalene, a project valued at 328,140 euros. Spanning approximately 2,000 square meters, the intervention aims to transform the area into a functional public meeting point. The project includes the creation of green spaces, pedestrian and cycle paths, a fitness area, a pergola, and improved parking facilities. Additionally, the works will feature a more functional bus stop, new public lighting, and rainwater collection systems, with a specific focus on removing architectural barriers to improve accessibility. Completion is expected by spring 2027.
In Terranuova, the renovation of Piazza Pernina has been inaugurated following a 155,000-euro investment. The project addressed previous urban decay by resurfacing the pavement, planting trees, installing new seating and urban furniture, and renewing public lighting. The project was funded through a mechanism where the company Polverini executed the public works in lieu of paying standard urbanization fees related to the construction of their new industrial headquarters.
