Urban regeneration projects launched in Selvatelle and Messina
In Selvatelle, a new large-scale mural has been inaugurated on via San Lazzaro as part of an urban regeneration project. The artwork, created by local artists Marco Bichisecchi, Marco Pozzoni, and Fabio Ivan Albizzati, adorns the building housing several key community associations, including La Selva, Il Gelso, and the Filarmonica San Martino. The mural features a hare, the symbol of Selvatelle, and local natural landscapes.
In Messina, Piazza Quasimodo has reopened following a redevelopment project aimed at transforming a previously fenced-off area into a social space. The project preserved 31 existing pine trees to provide shade and temperature mitigation. The renovation also included the protection and valorization of archaeological remains found within the site, supported by archaeologist Enrico Giannitrapani and the Soprintendenza ai Beni Culturali e Ambientali di Messina. The works were managed by Messinaservizi Bene Comune.
