Urban safety and infrastructure issues reported in Spain and Colombia

In Spain, residents of the Travesía de Vigo area have reported concerns regarding public safety following a reported gang rape in a secluded alleyway near Finca Matías. Local neighbors noted that the area has become increasingly neglected due to the suspension of renovation works at the park, which has resulted in overgrown vegetation, waste accumulation, and an increase in pests. While some residents view the incident as an isolated event, others expressed fear regarding the lack of maintenance and visibility in the area.

In Colombia, residents of the El Recodo neighborhood in the Fontibón locality of Bogotá are protesting the rapid deterioration of local roads. The damage is attributed to the continuous transit of heavy dump trucks transporting materials to soil restoration projects in the neighboring municipality of Mosquera. According to Councilman Andrés Onzaga, the situation affects over 40,000 residents, causing asphalt wear, excessive dust, noise, and structural vibrations in homes. The community has reported increased health risks for children and the elderly, as well as higher accident risks for pedestrians.
