Urban traffic patterns see shifts in Guatemala City and Neuquén

Traffic authorities in Guatemala City and Neuquén, Argentina, are reporting significant shifts in vehicle circulation patterns.

In Guatemala City, officials expect more than 1.25 million vehicles to circulate on Tuesday, August 18, following a holiday period for the Feast of the Assumption. The Municipal Transit Police noted that construction for the AeroMetro stations has caused slower traffic and required alternate routes in areas such as El Trébol, Calzada Raúl Aguilar Batres, and the Periférico. Potential rain from eastern waves may also impact movement.

In Neuquén, Argentina, data from traffic radars shows a 30% increase in daily vehicle entries during July compared to the previous year. The city averaged 134,283 vehicles per day, with peak circulation reaching 237,525 vehicles in a single day. Approximately 52% of these vehicles are from outside the city, while 48% are local. The municipal government uses these radar systems to monitor flow and manage traffic rather than for issuing fines.
