Urban transformation projects in Istanbul focus on luxury real estate and environmental preservation

Urban transformation initiatives in Istanbul are shaping both the luxury real estate market and environmental conservation efforts. In established districts such as Koşuyolu, Acıbadem, and Altunizade, property owners and investors are evaluating the potential of aging buildings. Experts note that true value in these areas depends on land share, zoning conditions, and technical building status rather than just the prospect of renewal. In the luxury segment, market value is driven by architectural design, privacy, and amenities alongside new construction.

Simultaneously, a major transformation project at the historic Taşkızak Shipyard on the Golden Horn in Beyoğlu has drawn attention for its efforts to preserve a centuries-old tree. To protect the tree amidst construction, a 100-square-meter area has been secured using fore piles. Project officials stated that protecting such natural assets is a cultural and environmental responsibility essential to sustainable urban living.
