Urbano Moraes and Carlos Alonso honored through cultural tributes

Musician Urbano Moraes will celebrate 60 years of his musical career at Teatro El Galpón. The event includes the presentation of his book, ‘¿Dónde van las mariposas?’, which explores his life through personal anecdotes and memories. The celebration will feature a concert alongside other prominent Uruguayan musicians.

In Argentina, the Ensamble Creativo will host an event dedicated to the life and work of artist Carlos Alonso, who passed away at age 96. Held at the Museo Evita Palacio Ferreyra, the tribute will examine Alonso’s connection to Argentine political and social history, specifically his focus on memory and violence during the 1970s. The program includes an exhibition of works such as ‘Manos Anónimas’ and ‘Infierno’, and will address the personal impact of the disappearance of his daughter, Paloma, during the military dictatorship.
