Áurea Andrade Leads Cantanhede Socialist Party with 2029 Vision

The Socialist Party (PS) of Cantanhede held its municipal inauguration on Sunday, appointing Áurea Andrade as president of the Municipal Political Commission. In her opening speech she outlined a programme aimed at 2029, emphasizing stronger primary health care, a public school system that tackles inequality, zero tolerance for domestic violence, and dignified support for the elderly.

The ceremony was attended by Pedro Coimbra, president of the Coimbra Federation of the Socialist Party, and Olga Nunes, president of the district Women Socialists (MS‑ID). Outgoing president Sérgio Negrão delivered a farewell address, stressing the party’s core values of liberty, equality, solidarity and social justice before stepping down to become a rank‑and‑file member.
