Đurđevac celebrates Bartolovo viticulture traditions

The tradition of Bartolovo was celebrated in Đurđevac, marking the beginning of preparations for the upcoming wine harvest. Central to the festivities was the ceremonial installation and blessing of the ‘klopotec’, a traditional device used to scare birds away from vineyards.

Various local officials and community leaders attended the events, including Koprivnica-Križevci County Prefect Tomislav Golubić and the Mayor of Đurđevac, Hrvoje Janči. Celebrations were held at locations including the Grganja family vineyard and the Jušta winery. The ceremonies included religious blessings led by local clergy, such as Bishop Branko Patačko and Rev. Andrija Botković, to wish winemakers a successful harvest and good weather.

Participants emphasized the importance of these customs in preserving the regional identity and viticultural heritage of the Podravina area.
