Đurđica Barlović: Legacy of the Novi fosili singer

Đurđica Barlović, the prominent singer of the group Novi fosili, passed away from a heart attack on August 26, 1992, at the age of 43. Her son, Hrvoje Barlović, recalled the circumstances of her death, noting that she suffered the attack on a beach on the island of Pag after water skiing. Despite rapid medical intervention by her father, a physician, she passed away in a hospital in Zadar.

Her sons, Hrvoje and Borna, have followed in their father's footsteps by pursuing careers in dentistry. Hrvoje, a dentist, described his mother as a woman who prioritized her family above her fame and career, maintaining a grounded lifestyle despite her musical success. He noted that while the family avoids grand commemorations of her death, they hold her memory close, and he has expressed interest in organizing an emotional, non-commercial tribute concert in her honor.
