Urinary changes as potential warning signs for cancer

Changes in urine, particularly the first urination of the morning, can serve as critical indicators for various types of cancer, including kidney, liver, colorectal, and gynecological cancers.

Key warning signs include foamy, cloudy, or dark-colored urine. Persistent foam may indicate protein leakage due to kidney damage, while dark colors—resembling tea or cola—can signal the presence of blood or bile pigments. These symptoms are often associated with kidney tumors damaging the glomerular filtration membrane.

Additionally, strong or unpleasant odors that persist despite dietary factors may indicate infections or obstructions caused by growing tumors. In some cases, such as advanced colorectal or gynecological cancers, a fistula may develop between the bowel and the bladder, allowing bacteria to enter the urinary tract.
