Urška Žigart extends AG Insurance-Soudal contract through 2029

Slovenian cyclist Urška Žigart has extended her contract with the Belgian WorldTour team AG Insurance-Soudal through the end of the 2029 season. The extension adds an additional year to her previous commitment, which originally ran through 2028.

Since joining the team in 2025, Žigart has established herself as a key climber and general classification rider. Her notable performances include a second-place finish at the Tour de Romandie, fifth at the Tour de Suisse, and an eighth-place finish at the Giro d’Italia Women in 2026.

The extension follows a challenging 2026 season marked by injury setbacks, including two jaw fractures sustained during the Tour de Suisse and the Faun Tour de l’Ardèche. Despite these injuries, the team's CEO, Jürgen Foré, expressed strong confidence in her continued progression and her value to the squad's long-term goals.
