Urška Žigart faces likely end to 2026 season after jaw fracture

Slovenian cyclist Urška Žigart has suffered a second jaw fracture of the 2026 season following a crash during the third stage of the Faun Tour Femmes in France. The injury occurred while she was in third place in the general classification.

Her team, AG Insurance – Soudal, stated that due to the nature of the injury and the fact that it is a recurrence of a previous fracture sustained during the Tour de Suisse in June, her season will likely end prematurely. This injury will force her to miss major upcoming events, including the World Championships in Montreal and the European Championships in Slovenia.

Žigart's partner, professional cyclist Tadej Pogačar, is also sidelined for the remainder of the season following a crash at the Vuelta a España.
