Urko Berrade signs two-year deal with Astana

Spanish cyclist Urko Berrade has signed a two-year contract with the Astana Qazaqstan Team, set to join the WorldTour squad for the 2027 and 2028 seasons. The 28-year-old climber from Navarre will move from Kern Pharma following the team's planned dissolution at the end of the current season.

Berrade's market value increased significantly following his performances in the 2026 Vuelta a España, where he finished 19th in the general classification and secured notable stage results, including second place on Stage 12. His recent form also includes a third-place finish at the Clàssica Terres de l'Ebre and a podium at the Spanish National Road Race Championships.
