urlaub-mit-tieren.com introduces specialized pet amenities for travelers

The booking portal urlaub-mit-tieren.com, based in Rimpar, has introduced new features specifically designed for pet owners booking vacation rentals. Since September, the platform has required accommodations to provide detailed information regarding pet-friendly amenities.

For cat owners, the portal displays whether a rental includes features such as balcony cat nets, cat enclosures, or cat flaps, as well as the specific costs associated with bringing a pet. For dog owners, the platform now includes details on fence height and whether fences are opaque. This allows users to search for cats and dogs separately, streamlining the process for households with both animals.

This update addresses a gap in major travel portals, which typically only offer a general ‘pets allowed’ filter. The initiative follows research showing that while millions of cats and dogs live in German households, cat owners are significantly less likely than dog owners to take their pets on vacation, often due to concerns regarding territory and safety.
