Urological health study reveals high rates of untreated symptoms in Spain

A recent study titled ‘Estudio RADAR: Primer Barómetro de la Salud Urológica en España’ reveals that 51% of individuals at risk for urological issues in Spain have never consulted a urologist, despite experiencing symptoms. Key findings indicate that 71.3% of this group reports needing to urinate multiple times during the night, 28.7% face sexual dysfunction, and 28.4% suffer from involuntary urine loss.

Medical experts warn that sedentary lifestyles, particularly those involving eight or more hours of inactivity, increase the risk of lower urinary tract symptoms. Specialists note that prolonged sitting can lead to perineal compression, affecting prostate and urinary health. Experts emphasize the importance of movement throughout the workday to mitigate these risks and urge patients not to normalize symptoms that require medical attention.
