Uros Medic secures 30-second knockout despite knee injury
UFC fighter Uros Medic secured a 30-second knockout victory against Daniel Rodriguez at UFC Fight Night in Belgrade, despite competing with a serious knee injury sustained during a routine warmup days before the event.
Medic revealed that his knee dislocated during training, causing immediate swelling. While initial tests at the UFC Performance Institute suggested his ACL was intact, doctors suspected a meniscus tear. Medic chose to proceed with the fight to compete in front of his home crowd, even attempting to hide his limp from his opponent and the media.
Following the victory, which marked his fourth consecutive win, it was determined that Medic requires arthroscopic surgery. He anticipates a recovery period of approximately one month and aims to return to the octagon before the end of 2026.
