Urs Lüthi returns to Kassel for retrospective exhibition

Swiss artist Urs Lüthi is returning to Kassel for a personal retrospective exhibition titled “… Die Sehnsucht stirbt zuletzt …” The exhibition will be held at Kunsttempel and Galerie Coucou from September 4 to October 25, 2026.

The showcase features more than six decades of artistic work, including photography, video, installations, and sculptures. The pieces explore themes of identity, physicality, and longing. Lüthi, whose work is held in major institutions such as the Centre Pompidou and MoMA, has long-standing ties to Kassel, having participated in documenta 6 and taught at the local art college for twenty years.
