Uruapan infrastructure modernization through hydraulic concrete works

The Michoacán state administration, led by Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, is implementing hydraulic concrete road projects to modernize infrastructure in Uruapan. Rogelio Zarazúa Sánchez, Secretary of Communications and Public Works, stated that these works aim to provide long-term durability and safety.

Key completed or ongoing projects include the ‘Carlos Manzo’ elevated pass near La Hielera, the access road to the IMSS High Specialty Hospital, and the rehabilitation of Adolfo López Mateos Street. Zarazúa Sánchez noted that while hydraulic concrete requires a higher initial investment than asphalt, it offers a lifespan of up to 30 years with minimal maintenance due to its resistance to weather, chemical spills, and heavy traffic loads. Additionally, the textured finish of the concrete provides anti-slip properties to enhance driver safety.
