Uruguay celebrates National Agroecology Day with academic events
Uruguay will observe National Agroecology Day on September 3 with various academic and social activities focused on sustainable production, food sovereignty, and environmental protection.
The Faculty of Agronomy is organizing events at its South Regional Center, including field tours and a fair to highlight territorial work. Additionally, the National Agroecology Plan's Honorary Commission will host a session at the Legislative Palace to discuss the relationship between agroecology and public policy.
In Durazno, UTEC is hosting the VIII Agroecology Conference under the theme ‘Agroecology and Biocultural Memory.’ This edition integrates indigenous knowledge and biodiversity, featuring discussions on ethnobiology and the role of traditional wisdom in resilient agricultural practices.
